Toronto's Own birdO Is Back In A Big Way
TagTO x birdO
August 2025 – Taglialatella Galleries – Toronto is pleased to present a breathtaking new mural by renowned Canadian contemporary street artist birdO, pushing the boundaries of public art with a striking 26,000 square-foot Blue Jay mural. Sprawling across the rooftop of the Cumberland Parkade, this stunning piece transforms the urban landscape, blending wildlife and cityscapes in birdO’s signature surrealist style.
Known for his surrealist approach, birdO’s work often merges intricate wildlife imagery with cityscapes, offering a unique perspective on both nature and urban life. The Blue Jay mural, visible from high above the Yorkville skyline, brings this concept to new heights, serving as both a symbol of Toronto’s creative energy and a tribute to the city’s natural surroundings. It is a striking visual that resonates with locals and visitors alike, turning an ordinary rooftop into a landmark of artistic expression.
Commissioned in collaboration with American Express Local Gems and Yorkville Murals, the mural also celebrates the city’s vibrant culture, notably its sports fandom, with the Blue Jay motif honoring the Toronto Blue Jays’ return to the top of the American League East. It’s a powerful reminder of the intersection between art, community pride, and public space.
To commemorate the unveiling, Taglialatella Galleries is offering an exclusive limited edition of 20 prints, priced at CAD $1,500. Contact Toronto@djtfa.com or 416-864-3850 to learn more or reserve your piece of Toronto’s creative landscape.
