FUGETABOUTIT – A Carrara Story

October 2025 – Carved from single blocks of famed Carrara marble in Italy, Fugetaboutit — a new edition of three hand-finished sculptures by Montreal artist Stikki Peaches — is now on view at Taglialatella Galleries, Toronto from October 30 to November 17. More than three years in the making, this ambitious collaboration between the artist and Taglialatella Galleries involved key partners such as Rodeo FX, Robot City, and Ciot. Each unique work draws from the artist’s formative memories: his parents’ professions as tailor and seamstress, the Star Wars figures that filled his childhood, and the mysterious men in suits who walked his neighborhood streets — all brought into striking dialogue with the classical elegance of Carrara marble.

Opening night began with the premiere screening of A Carrara Story at the Toronto Public Library, where director Tom Lay’s short documentary traced Stikki Peaches’ transformation from street artist to sculptor, followed by an engaging Q&A. Guests then continued to the gallery for the highly anticipated reveal of the works. The film — beautifully capturing the journey from Montreal to Italy’s renowned marble studios, and the fusion of pop culture with timeless craftsmanship — is now streaming exclusively on the ICFF website throughout the exhibition.
