Jean-Michel Basquiat | Editions, 2026
May 2026 — Taglialatella Galleries presents Jean-Michel Basquiat / Editions, a two-location exhibition celebrating 25 years of limited-edition prints released by the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat. New York City–born Jean-Michel Basquiat was a Neo-Expressionist, multidisciplinary artist who is widely recognized for combining elements of graffiti, drawing, and abstract painting. His work confronts social constructs and political issues—including racism and disparities of wealth and power—often incorporating historical references.
Each print is numbered on the recto and stamped, signed, and dated on the verso by the Executors of the Estate, including publications by DeSanctis Carr Fine Art (2001–2005) and Flatiron Editions in collaboration with Pace Prints (since 2015). Taglialatella is also pleased to include a single original drawing in the exhibition.
Taglialatella Galleries has long been a leader in the secondary market for Basquiat’s work, with a particular focus on prints as part of the gallery’s blue-chip program and accessible curatorial approach. While museums worldwide feature Basquiat’s work, few galleries can maintain original pieces due to their multimillion-dollar value. The gallery recognizes the importance of presenting Basquiat’s editioned works to the public, offering collectors a rare opportunity to acquire pieces connected to the artist’s legacy in a more accessible format.
With Editions, Taglialatella aims to connect a new generation of collectors and admirers with the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat. The opening reception is on May 28, 2026, at 99 Yorkville Avenue. For additional details, please call 212-367-0881 or e-mail info@djtfa.com.
