Breakfast Television: “Caitlin Cronenberg Holds a Secret Party at Taglialatella Gallery”
April 11, 2019
June 20, 2019 (Toronto, ON) – INK Entertainment’s Taglialatella Galleries is proud to announce its latest solo exhibition with Canada born artist, Ben Johnston. Highlighting his typographic paintings and prints, Johnston’s Forever Forever works are a composition of cheeky and nuanced sayings, mottos, and ideas in which he combines text with city aesthetic. Works presented in the show include original paintings, prints, and a mural on the gallery’s front building.
“It’s important to combine local street art with street art internationally, and that is what we are doing with projects and exhibitions like Ben’s in the gallery” says Alan Ganev, Director, Taglialatella Galleries Toronto. “He has created murals all over the city, bringing colour and thought to stiff spaces, it’s an exciting show and project for us to work on with Ben.” Currently residing in Toronto, Johnston grew up in South Africa and has traveled internationally which influences his aesthetic and ideas. Some of the locations of his murals in Toronto include, the Drake General Store and the Distillery District. Johnston has worked with high end clientele such as Nike, Chevrolet, and Google. Launched in July 2018, the Yorkville gallery is the first Canadian outpost for the international brand. The gallery regularly features exhibitions, and most recently launched prized photographer Caitlin Cronenberg’s HEAT collection.
This exhibition will be presented in partnership with BISHA Hotel and refreshments will be provided by Romeo’s Gin.
